ABOUT ME
I was born and brought up on the west coast of Scotland and was extremely fortunate to grow up surrounded by the most beautiful views. Whether that was the panoramic view from my childhood home looking over the expanse of the Firth of Clyde out towards Inverclyde, or whether it was the breathtaking scenery of Loch Lomond where my family later moved to, I have never tired of the west coast scenery.
Now in my adulthood, I live south of Manchester, England. Not quite next to the sea, but only a short drive to the beautiful island of Anglesey in North Wales which I often describe as my 'spiritual home'. My love of this island and its beautiful beaches and ever-changing sea colour inspires me, and I often use sketches and photographs of this area as a base for my paintings.
Regular visits to my family both on the west coast of Scotland and also on the east coast in Fife, means that I can also collate sketches, photos and memories to use in my paintings. You can often see the big skies and expanse of seas around St Andrews in my work.
I have a small number of original paintings which are for sale both here and via Instagram (@lorna_stewart_art).
